A Few Pickups

I've been in a buying mood lately and sensing the end of a number of set completions (I can't wait to announce when that happens).  But as I've learned over the years, patience and persistence is key to completing these things.  So while I search for the few cards I need for my '69, '70 and '72 sets, I'm also picking up cards here and there.

Cards like this '54 Bowman McDougald.  Who is this guy?  I don't know.  I do know that I'm becoming enamored with this set.

Another set I really like is any Hostess set.  I landed a stack of haplessly cut 1979 Hostess cards for a song.  I'll probably trim these properly.

Switching to basketball, I found these three for under a buck.  This King of Cards insert set is from the 21-22 Panini Illusions release,  I really like the embossing on these cards.

I also added to my Ant PC.  The Prizm card is a silver holo.

On the more vintage side, I couldn't turn down a 1981-82 Topps Mike Cooper.

Back to the King of Cards thing, I had never seen the acetate version and it's a football card!  I'll probably add a few more of these when I see them.

I found a Shadow Box rookie card of Bobby Brink, who was recently acquired by the MN Wild.

Getting back to baseball, it's never a bad thing to add Ohtani's to a collection.

I also found a couple of '69 needs for the set.  Only 18 cards left!

Lastly, I'm showing off 6 more acquistions toward my '72 set build.  Only 14 cards left and a $206 budget!  I did spend a bit on that Fregosi ($23.48), the others I bought from a dealer friend whose father collects 1972 baseball and sold me these at $5 apiece.  Not pictured, I also acquired #724 AL Rookies - John Curtis/Rich Hinton/Mickey Scott that set me back $20.81.  At least it was the last rookie card I needed.

That's all I got for now.  Until next time, happy hunting!
