Meeting a Legend

What's better than blogging about sports cards?  How about not only meeting a player you grew up watching, but then to get an invite to hang out for awhile too?  WOW!  That's exactly what happened to me and some friends recently.  As luck would have it, we were at a local establishment watching the Gopher football team bring home the Axe and coincidentally, former Minnesota Viking Tommy Kramer was hanging out there too!

Since its been noted around these parts that Kramer moved to Minnesota, he's been a fixture around many establishments.  This time around, he wasn't there for a sponsored event.  He was simply being a guy watching sports and having a good time.  Fortunately, my friends and I were able to strike up a conversation and we were invited to hang out afterward at his house!  It turns out he's not far from where my friends and I live and the drive was short.

The house is not only well appointed with memorabilia from past Vikings, but it also has a urinal with a Packer logo in it!  Ha ha!  Mr. Kramer may not have been the most prolific quarterback to ever play for the Vikings, but he's a super nice guy and willing to tell tales of playing in the NFL.  Not only did he give each of us an 8x10 photo which he happily signed, but he gave these fans an experience we will not soon forget!  Thank you Tommy Kramer!
