Like many special cards or sets of the nineties, the Upper Deck Holojam box set took advantage of the hologram craze and gave what I think is one sweet looking set. It's only 36 cards and comes in a small box, but it packs a lot of punch. With full bleed holograms and a player overlay, the cards give the collector an action shot worthy of a highlight reel. Many of the biggest stars of the day are included. My scans really don't do the holographic background any justice here.
Or maybe that was a given?
But there he is!
This is probably one the most animated shots in the set. Karl Malone making a delivery!
And now for something kind of boring. No stats, just a neat little write up of the player.
This is one of those sets that really shines, especially in the sunlight. The only drawback I can see with this set is that the cards can easily show scratches. The set also came with a card where a collector could order an UD binder for the set. I kind of wish I would have taken them up on that offer as the cards would display well, but for now these will remain in a box, with the collection.
This set doesn't get much love online from collectors, but I still think that it's really neat too. Of course I pretty much enjoy all things hologram, so...
ReplyDeleteThat is a shame because these are really cool cards.
