1991 Mother's Cookies Oakland A's

I had originally intended to post this on Mother's day because, you know, pun and all.  However after a day of house chores I just wasn't up to snuff when it came to creating another post.  Now I've got a bit of a backlog of stuff to post so let's get on with it.

This is the kind of set I love to come across at my LCS.  I'm a sucker for these cheap sets, however when I got home and opened the envelope I noticed this isn't a complete set.  I'm 9 cards short!  Oh well, the price was right.

I really like these full color photos.  The man I just met a couple short weeks ago and featured on this card looks as happy as he was when I met him in person.

The bash brothers were quite the tandem.  Too bad all that juicing caught up to them later.

These two were not juicing (that we know of) and each had a great season.

The team was managed by Tony LaRussa, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.

That's just a short sample of the set.  Though technically not complete yet, this is the second set of Mother's Cookies I own.  I recall Fuji's comment of my other post about Mother's Cookies sets that these were a SGA and that they were not complete sets on purpose to encourage collectors to trade.  Which is too bad because now I've got track down the rest of this set.

  1. I'm in the middle of building the 1990 Mother's Cookies A's set. Down to two cards. The problem is I refuse to pay over a buck for commons. Good luck on your set build. I might have a few 1991 duplicates sitting in my A's boxes. If you email me your want list, I can see if I have any you need.
