Traveling Again

As if summers don't fly by fast enough, traveling seems to make it go even quicker.  I had back to back trips planned this month.  One a long weekend at my brother's place in South Dakota, and the other a week long fishing trip.

As far as the South Dakota trip goes, well it's always nice to travel there but during the high point of the tourist season it is nuts.  While there we drove out to visit America's first monument, Devil's Towel in Wyoming and hiked the path around its base.  Very cool to see up close.  Also cool to watch people scale up the thing. Very not cool was my experience using one of the restrooms there.  I just don't understand why people can't clean up after themselves.  Not a pleasant experience.  Another bad experience was all the traffic.  It took about an hour just to get to the parking lot.  Definitely a place to visit during the off season.

But all that travel time has put me behind so much, that even my brother is getting on my case about blogging!  I can't have that happen.  So let's look at some cards.

A while back I picked up a six pack of 56's for a song.  I had most of these but am hoping to get a couple of upgrades out of these.

I added this '68 for a couple bucks.  Slowly building this set.

This '75 mini Killebrew was nice to knock off the want list.

On the modern side of things, I added another base Elly De La Cruz rookie.

Finally I took another chance on a Pristine auction mystery pack.  Maybe it was all the fresh air I got this month that made me feel lucky, but honestly I have no idea why I did it.  The return just wasn't worth it.

So that's a quick post for now.  Until next time happy hunting!

PS:  I owe Matt some cards for a time travel trade.  I'll get those in the mail ASAP.

  2. A. South Dakota and Devil's Tower look fantastic. Looking forward to retirement (in a decade or so), so I can travel to some National Parks and avoid peak seasons.

    B. Nice 6-pack of my favorite set design of all-time.
