Out of State with a Local Flavor

A friend of mine, his wife and I ventured across the border to a card show in Eau Claire, WI.  For those unaware, this is about a 90 minute drive from the Twin Cities.  My friends wife tagged along in error, she thought he said we were going to a car show, not a card show.  Oops.  But she was a good sport about it.  Fortunately, she had lived in nearby Hudson where she knew of a really good chocolate shop and we stopped in on the way back.  Cards and chocolate, what a combo.

One of the first cards I bought was this Select rookie.  I'm not sure but I think that is an orange flash.

Next up is this SGC graded 2021-22 Panini Select 75 Years of the NBA.  I generally don't buy SGC graded cards, but the price was right.  I am tempted to crack this and submit to PSA.

Of course I couldn't leave without picking up a couple of Arraez cards for my PC.

The lone vintage card I bought, this 1968 Topps Fran Tarkenton.  Centering issue aside, the card is in really good shape.

On my way out, I couldn't resist this '21 Crown Royale Zion.  Love these die-cut cards.  His career got off to a rough start but maybe he'll bounce back.

Finally, I bought this rookie off the Pristine site.  This guy looks like he could be a super star.

That's all I have to show off for now.  There's another show tomorrow and I'll be hunting for deals.

  2. Hope you found some cool stuff at the show yesterday. I like that Tarkenton. That face takes me back to watching That's Incredible! with my mom back in the 80's.
