Give Me Five

Sometimes I focus too hard on showing off my latest cards that I neglect to show off some of the memorabilia I've collected over the years.  The hand print shown above is a unique collectible that was obtained long ago and was included in a box of autographs I won at a local auction.  This is a real handprint of a Hall of Famer - can you guess who?

Take a closer look.  Recognize those finger prints?

Not only was this player taller than me, but his hand was slightly larger.

Congratulations if you guessed Ernie Banks!  You are quite the super sleuth just looking at a handprint!
This was in a plain white box with 'Banks' written on one side.  I had no idea what was in it at the time of the auction but I think it is a pretty cool collectible.  Bonus that Mr. Cub signed it.

This also came with a nice certificate with a one year money back guarantee!  But who would return a unique piece like this?  I like the last sentence, "this should increase many times over your purchase price".  Ha!  I don't know what the original price was but pretty sure it hasn't increase that much in value.

This also came with a 4x6 photo of Mr. Cub with the ink pad at his side.  As you can see, he signed this on 3/31/1993!

The cert says this was sold by a company called The Original Handprint Company.  My quick web search didn't yield any results but I did notice some of these were for sale or sold anywhere from $150 to $800 and I could find zero information about how many of these exist.

I figure I'll hang on to this piece for awhile and watch the value grow many times over.
