The second show I hit last weekend was a complete dud in terms of dealers. Being this was the first time a card show was held in this particular location I was hoping for a good turnout. Unfortunately the show had a couple of issues. Issue #1 is they charged $5 to get in - which is ridiculous, but I begrudgingly paid up. Issue #2 was a total lack of dealers! I think there may have been 10 dealers total. Ouch. Maybe that was bad timing due to the number of shows going on at the same time, or maybe it's just that this market doesn't have that many dealers. Whatever the cause it sucked.
But when you've got lemons make lemonade right? While there I did find some items that captured my attention like this 2019-20 Panini Illusions acetate card of Steph Curry.
From that same table I plucked out this 2021-22 Donruss Optic Express Lane insert of Zion. We he's healthy he's a beast.
I also added this 2020-21 Ant rookie from the Mosaic set. I have this in a PSA 10 but when the price is right I will always add to my Ant PC.
From that same table I picked up this Olajuwon Beam Team for $10.
These two Jordans were had for a song.
Along with this Ant. It's my first card from a Monopoly set.
This 1995 Bowman's Best Red is a nice addition to my Puckett PC.
Finally, I couldn't resist this uncut sheet of 7-Eleven Minnesota North Stars. I don't go out of my way to collect these sheets because they are large and unwieldy but I'll make an exception when it comes to my favorite hockey team. The set itself doesn't have much value but you just don't ever come across these.
Overall last weekend's haul wasn't exceptionally bad for the shows I attended. On Saturday there were deals to be had, and I'm hoping to complete a deal at a future show with one of the dealers. The Sunday show was so dead my nephew was able to set up as a dealer for no cost. At least I added to my Pucket and Ant PC's. And those CGC slabs were my first from that grading company. So it's was a mixed bag, which keeps things interesting. Until next post, happy hunting!
