Vintage and a Trade!

Recently I had the good fortune to add to some vintage set builds by way of purchases and a trade.  First the purchase, which was a pile of 1960 Topps baseball for that ongoing set build.

Is it just me or do the team cards from this set look like they should be in the '64 set?

The Crandell has a nice crease in it, so I may upgrade that at some point otherwise these will just fine.

The Phila coaches card has a little tear in the upper right so that will need an upgrade.  It also kind of bugs me that a  set which is 90% landscaped has these portrait aligned cards.  Before buying these cards I didn't realize that I'm further along in this set build than I am with the 1969 set build (73% v 67%).  I'll have to do something about that.

Bo of Baseball Cards Come to Life! fame completed a vintage trade with me.  He sent me these needs for my '75 mini set build.  At only about 25% complete this build really needs a boost.

He also sent a couple of needs for the '69 set and my '62 set build.

He also helped out with my '72 set build.

And he didn't forget about my '85 OPC set build.  There's a lot of set building going on around here.
But that's not all!

Bo also added to my Puckett PC.  Thanks for the trade!

There are a couple of big shows this weekend so hopefully I can nail down more vintage and actually complete a set this year.  Until next post, happy hunting!

  1. Glad you could use those cards! Is the '72 OPC Killebrew going into your Topps set?

I can see how those team cards look like they belong in the '64 set. That Orioles card looks like there's a short order cook on the right.

    Thanks again for the trade!

    1. Actually forgot that Killebrew was OPC! That will go in my PC for him, not the set.

  2. Nice Killebrew and Puckett cards! The Twins have always been my team. Will they ever be in the World Series again? Enjoy the time.
