With so many great cards out there I find it difficult to 'stay in my lane' when it comes to picking up vintage. So I thought I'd take some time to review my ongoing set needs for this year. I guess you could say this is an attempt at keeping my mind focused on the sets I've always wanted to complete, rather then rushing out to buy the latest shiny cards or the hottest rookie card in a recent release. Those are things that have distracted me from the vintage chase. So here's a look at my set priorities.
1972 TOPPS BASEBALL Completion %: 93.5% Number of cards needed: 51 Most wanted: several high numbered, including Joe Morgan Notes: Other than the nearly 800 card checklist, I'm not sure why this hasn't been completed. Maybe it's because the design never really impressed me. Completion %: 89.7% Number of cards needed: 74 Most wanted: I need some all-star cards, notably Aaron, Bench and Yaz and of course I still need the Munson rookie.
Notes: At 720 cards, I didn't think this set would take as long as it has to complete.

Yep that's a stack of Upper Deck hockey cards.
My brother gave these to me for Christmas but note the blue tin on the bottom.
Hockey cards wasn't all that was in there! There were over 60 needs for my 69 set build!
This boosted the completion rate by 10 points.
He's a funny guy!

Notes: There are many stars from the day I still need.
Of course there are a few more sets I'd like to complete some day but priorities are priorities.

What a surprise from your brother! Those notes are funny too. Good luck completing the sets!
