Set Complete - 1971 Topps Football Poster Inserts

It's been nearly 2 years since I first came across a collection of these poster inserts from the 1971 Topps football set.  Back then I highlighted that find in this POST.  I was visiting my brother in South Dakota when these were found at a local antique mall.  This would have been a fun set to collect way back in the 70's and I could totally see my younger self pinning up my favorite players.

There it is - the entire collection.  I tried to create one combined image but in blogger it appeared too small so I had to create two separate images.  Still kind of cool to see them all together.

Each 'poster' is about 5x7, so I'm hoping I can find some binder sheets that fit these.

The really cool thing about these posters is that I have these two extras looking for a new home!

Speaking of posters, I also thought this would be a good time to show off this:

It's an uncut card sheet of Dodger greats from the 1989 Smokey Bear set.

The sheet isn't perfect and the cards are perforated so it is kind of fragile.  I found this at the same antique mall where I picked up some vintage cards in Duluth.  I thought it was pretty cool and shouldn't be left behind.  Do I dare pull these apart?

Finally I'll show this comic book off.  My brother swung a deal in a Duluth card shop and though I'm not really into comics this is pretty cool.

That's all I got for now, thanks for reading.

  1. I have all those Smokey Bear cards individually. Uncut sheets are fun but I never know what to do with them.

Those '71 football posters have a definite '60s vibe.

  2. That's pretty cool to see the whole set of posters like that.

I've got the Bill Nelsen for my Browns collection.

  3. Love the 71 Topps Posters. I'm four posters away from completing my set. Already have Butkus and Russell though. And that Batman comic is awesome! Love the cover art.

  4. Like those football posters. Dave Osborn was one of my favorites growing up. Enjoy the hobby all!

  5. Congrats on finishing the set. I'm not sure about the binder sheets but maybe two pocket ones will work? If not just get full sheet 8.5x11 one pockets.

    1. That's what I was thinking, pretty sure they would hold two 5x7's.

  6. I'll take the Butkus if it's still available. Please.
    The Joker's always cool.

    1. Ironically someone in OBC posted yesterday that Butkus is the last one they need for their set. If nobody wants Russell I'd be happy to take it. Thanks!

  7. Congrats on the completed set! I find graded comics funny...you can't even read them! At least you can still see graded cards.
