Mail Day

There is an understated joy in walking out to the mailbox and finding packages instead of bills.  It instantly shifts the tone of your day.  That feeling becomes even more valuable during a local sports hangover.  With the Wild and Timberwolves both knocked out of the playoffs, I only have the Twins to watch and there isn't much joy in that.  This is exactly when a few envelopes full of cards save the day.

Jim, aka mr haverkamp on TCDB, reached out to me recently.  He sent two absolutely beautiful cards to add to my 1973 Frankenset project.  It really doesn't get much better than these.

Greg of Night Owl fame sent along card #202 for the 1973 Frankenset project,  This was almost rejected for being too nice.

But the back of this card makes it special.

Night Owl also included a few Twins for my PC.  Who would have thought that Ryan Jeffers might be the best player out of this bunch?

He also included this '62 Post Aparicio for my set build.

I recently bid on and won this 1972 Bobby Bonds IA.  I am this close to completing the set.

This Topps Finest Willie Mays also made its way into my mailbox.  This insert set isn't a priority, but I try to add one of these every now and then.

I also added this SGA rookie to my collection.  I didn't notice that print line when I ordered it. :(

In the 'just for fun' category, I've been trying to complete the 1974 Topps football team checklist insert set.  Now I only need the Steelers card.

Finally I landed a big one.  This 1964 Pete Rose rookie cup has been on my 'most wanted' list for a long time.  I'll complete this set some day.

Thank you to mr haverkamp and Night Owl for the cards!

I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!
