Show and Tell (part 2)

As a followup to this week's topic, I thought I'd stop keeping all three or four readers in suspense. So without any more comment, here are some highlights from the second box.

I like the Musgrave highlight for the Padres first no hitter. It's as you'd expect for a celebration. The only benefit to being on a highlight card is that your name is more readable. The second card is kind of corny...who knew Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien were such good friends? Did we need to know this? Well now you do!  Finally... wait, is that what I think it is? Yes it is a Twin!

Then we have...OMG no way! Another Twin and fan favorite Nelson Cruz. Too bad the Twins sent him packing, they need a little more excitement at Target Field. The Franchy Cordero is pretty cool, going up against the wall and I do like the rookie debut displaying the date.

The first 3 inserts contained a gold Tyler Alexander, Topps Chrome Mountcastle and my first retro looking Topps Black Gold, this one is Andrew Vaughn. The next 3 are a bit better starting with a 35th retro Greg Maddox, and die-cut Duke Snider (I just knew there would be a retro Duke). The rookie of Ha-Seong Kim is a silver parallel but kind of tough to see in the scan.

Finally I have two 70th Patch cards of Puckett and Glavine. Cool looking cards and I'm not sure why, but I've decided to chase that set. For those counting, that is only 4 Twins in roughly 200 cards. Topps bias is truly showing here. I can only hope the Twins will be better represented once the Fanatics acquisition of Topps is done.  😂 😉

  2. That Mountcastle scanned awesome! Those 70th Patch Cards are weird. they feel funny to me. But they are also kind of cool.
