1992 Sportflics Kellogg's All Stars

I came across this small set at one of the local card shops.  I don't remember the exact cost, but it was less than $5.  This has been on my radar since I acquired the 1991 Kellogg's Baseball Greats so I'm glad to finally have this in the collection.

The cards have a very similar design to the 1991 set, though I'm not really a fan of the border color.

Players featured in this set were current back then, some older than others.  Still many great names.

Here are a couple of my favorite cards from the set.  Niekro looking like he's ready to throw his knuckleball and Schmidt looking up like he knows that one is gone (or maybe its a popup).

Unlike the 1991 set, Kellogg's (or Sportflics) added a career stat line to back of these cards.

So here's my quick take on this set. With only 10 cards the set is small, very affordable and though it may be one of the worse designs of Kellogg's cards ever, this is a fun little set for fans of lenticular cards.  Much like the 1991 set, this set also has a frame but unfortunately for me this didn't come with it (I've seen photos of it - not that I'd use it anyway) and I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to buy corn flakes to get these cards back then.  Until next time, happy hunting!

  1. I'm not much of a Corn Flakes fan when it comes to eating them. When they come with a card, I might eat some.

  2. There's also a Canadian version of this set, in which they are identical on the front except they were found in Frosted Flakes so it says "Frosted Flakes" on the front instead of "Corn Flakes".

  3. I'd love to shop at your LCS, because I would totally pay $5 for this set right now. Congratulations on the pickup.

  4. I remember pulling the Jim Rice from this set, shortly before my mom declared she wasn't spending any more money on name brand cereal just for a baseball card.

  5. Oh yeah, Corn Flakes wasn't in my rotation of cereal so I wouldn't have come across these haha. Nice pickup!
