After replacing my old computer, I feel like things are getting back to normal. Slowly my desk is clearing and cards are getting organized. It was somewhat difficult to adjust to only having one device to perform transactions over the internet (my phone). Yes I have a work laptop, but I don't use that for personal stuff. The bad thing about having old computers laying around is now I have to figure out a way to get rid of them. Recycling some of this stuff costs money, which bites into my card budget.
Ever buy a card thinking you needed it? That happened (again) with this Clemente. It's got a nice crease in the upper right but the price was right. Turns out I have a nicer copy that I found in one of my goody boxes.
This 1971 scratch off satisfied a need for this insert set. I still need quite of few to complete this set.
This '68 Orlando Cepeda fills a void in this set. It's in really good condition.
These six cards from the 1970 set were all needs. Headlined by that 2nd year Johnny Bench, this set is now 94% complete.
Finally, I thought I would show off a nice custom from Nine Pockets. He had a giveaway and I claimed this '69 Jets SB card. He does a great job with the custom cards.
Fortunately I have a budget friendly card shop nearby. I've been to this shop many times and the owner and I have a good rapport. So I'm showing off a few recent purchases.
The only football card to show off today is this '55 Bowman of Hall of Famer Tom Landry. Most kids nowadays wouldn't recognize him nor would they know he was once coach of 'America's Team'.Until next time, happy hunting!
Having just finished 1970 Topps, I can appreciate that six-pack. Your Bench is nicer than mine.
ReplyDeleteRoberto (Bob) Clemente
ReplyDeleteNice finds! You are very close to finishing your 1970 set. I chose to do a 2019 Topps Heritage set build. I'm 19 SP's away from completion. I have never been to an LCS. Someday?
ReplyDeleteClemente, Cepeda, and Bench are some solid baseball pickups. The extra Clemente will be able to land you some singles for your vintage set builds. Love the Landry. He looks so young. Plus I'm used to seeing him with his fedora.
ReplyDeleteThose 1970s are nice to see, especially the Bench and Allison cards. It's always fun to find an LCS or table at a show that actually has high numbers in stock.
