Oh look another card show!

Lately, it seems like new card shows are popping up everywhere, but more options haven't led to better quality.  After having five shows to pick from three weeks ago and four the week after, last weekend's one-and-only show was a total disappointment.  Hosted at a local school gym, the photo above might make it look okay, but a closer look reveals a startling scarcity of sports cards.  I counted a mere nine sports card dealers in a room overrun by Pokémon vendors, much to my dismay.

Fortunately I was able to find a couple of dealers that had cards I liked.  These two Post cards from the 1962 set were bundled with a few more cards for $10.

That bundle included this 1970 Kellogg's Dean Chance with a unique style of cropping.

The bundle also included this '75 mini.

And this well loved Jell-0 card of Al Kaline.  I just wish the kid that cut it had learned to cut better.

I couldn't resist this unique piece of wood memorabilia.  A Kirill Kaprizov 2023-24 Engrained Carved In Time from the 23-24 SP Upper Deck set.

Finally this Wayne Garrett helps me get one card closer to completing the 1970 set.

That's all I could muster from 9 dealers.  Hopefully next week's card show will be better.  Until next time happy hunting!

  1. That's a nice bundle!

Your cards are on their way, mailed 'em this week.

  2. Nice cards. Nine dealers is better than the single dealer I found who had interesting stuff at a show overrun with fantasy stuff last month.

  3. That Kirill card is fantastic! I have yet to attend a show. Maybe someday? Nice finds.

  4. I say shoot em, shoot em all. Just kidding....just the pokemon dealers, okay okay kidding again. Remember when we didn't see any of those vendors at shows? Maybe at most one. Archie and Edith Bunker sings "those were the days"
